May 29-31, 2009, Saint Leo University
Cure on Wheels consists of two cycling routes, which cover some of the loveliest parks and roadways in the Tampa Bay area:
Two-Day Rides: (May 31 & June 1) Saint Leo to Saint Leo & back (two slightly different scenic routes)- 125 miles Saint Leo to Saint Leo & back - 165 miles
One-Day Rides: (May 31) Saint Leo to Saint Leo - 65 miles Saint Leo to Saint Leo - 105 miles
People will register for the opportunity to ride beginning in mid-January. Along each Cure on Wheels route, cyclists have access to waterstops that provide food, water, and bathroom facilities, as well as medical and mechanical assistance.
Volunteers are needed for assistance at Saint Leo University (SLU) which serves as our start and finish point. At SLU, numerous crews run different areas of the site such as food, luggage, bike parking, etc. In addition to the help at SLU, volunteers are needed to staff the waterstops (which are set up approximately every 20 miles along the routes).
If you are interested in volunteering to help either before, during or after Cure on Wheels weekend, please register on our site or email us at info@cureonwheels.org. |
